Hailing from the South Bronx, the Scroggins sisters of Renee, Valerie and Marie were perfectly positioned at the cross roads of hip-hop, dance, pop and punk - integrating fistfuls of elements and moulding them into a whole which fizzes from start to finish. ![]() "A trio of sisters who have since drafted in their daughters for this year's 'Keep On Moving', ESG combine lurching post-punk, sleazy electro and a fine dose of pop sensibilities to produce a sound that is double-cream fresh despite its advanced years. Just in case you fancy feeling your age, it's worth noting that ESG's 'Come Away With ESG' was originally released way back yonder in 1983 on 99 Records - minting a sound that has now gone on to be copied by many but bettered by few.
